A Day for Equality and Togetherness
Punjab’s Minister for Minorities Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, said that Minority Day is a reminder of dignity, equality, and unity for all people in Pakistan. He stated that the Constitution affords equal rights to everyone, and minority communities are playing a crucial role in the country’s progress.
First Minority Week in Punjab
For the first time, the Punjab government is celebrating Minority Week from 7 to 11 August. The week features numerous activities, including cultural shows, sports events, seminars, and conferences. These programs are made to bring people of different religions closer and create understanding between them.
Help and Support for Minorities
The minister thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her care and support for minorities. He said the government is giving scholarships to students, repairing places of worship, creating job chances, and starting social welfare projects.
He also said that solving the problems of minority communities quickly has set a good example for others.
Unity in Diversity
The minister said that people from different religions joining the celebrations show Pakistan’s real strength—unity in diversity. He hoped that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, more projects for the benefit of minorities will start, making society stronger and more peaceful.
Hope for the Future
Minority Week will end with a promise to keep promoting peace, respect, and cooperation among all people in Punjab. The government hopes these celebrations will make the bond between communities stronger and protect the rights of everyone.
