New Route Announced for Better Accessibility
The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Peshawar is set to expand its reach, with a new route heading towards Khyber Road to provide direct access to the Judicial Complex. This development aims to make travel easier for lawyers, court staff, and citizens visiting the facility.
Decision Made After Joint Meeting
The decision was finalized during a meeting chaired by Peshawar Bar Association President Qaiser Zaman. The session brought together key figures, including BRT Project Director Zahid Ali Shah, the sessions court administrator, the court’s security officer, Additional Assistant Commissioner Sajjad, and several other officials.
In the meeting, representatives of the legal community highlighted the challenges faced by court visitors due to limited public transport connectivity. The proposal for an extended BRT route was formally put forward, with emphasis on its potential to reduce travel time and improve security.
BRT Authorities Respond to Longstanding Demand
BRT Project Director Zahid Ali Shah confirmed that the extension plan had been approved in direct response to the Bar Association’s request. He explained that the new route would allow buses to serve the Judicial Complex more efficiently, saving commuters from long walks or reliance on multiple transport options.
He further revealed that a dedicated BRT station will be set up at Gate No. 2 of the Judicial Complex, strategically placed for maximum convenience. This stop will cater specifically to the needs of court visitors, ensuring quick and safe access to the premises.

Peshawar Bar Association President Qaiser Zaman expressed his gratitude to District and Sessions Judge Peshawar Inamullah Wazir, the BRT administration, and all government stakeholders for their cooperation. He described the move as a significant step in addressing a persistent transportation challenge for the legal community.
“This extension will not only save time but also enhance the comfort and safety of everyone visiting the courts,” he remarked, noting that the initiative reflects strong coordination between civic authorities and the judiciary.
